What Is Neurofeedback Therapy?

Neurofeedback therapy is a gentle, non-invasive technique that trains your brain to regulate itself more effectively. Using real-time feedback about your brain's activity, neurofeedback therapy helps calm an overactive stress response, improve focus, and support healthier emotional regulation, all without medication.

Psychotherapy gives you the space to process what's happening in your life: the thoughts, patterns, and experiences that brought you here.

At Re Therapies, we don't treat these as two separate things you have to choose between. In most sessions, we combine neurofeedback therapy with psychotherapy, using neurofeedback to help regulate the nervous system while working through the emotional and psychological pieces in real time. The result is therapy that works with your brain, not just your mindset.

What Does Neurofeedback Therapy Help With?

Our neurofeedback therapy approach supports individuals dealing with anxiety, trauma, ADHD, emotional regulation challenges, and sleep issues.

We combine neurofeedback therapy with psychotherapy to help you address anxiety, trauma, PTSD, ADHD and focus challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, and sleep issues. If you're not sure whether your situation fits, that's okay. Many people come to us without a clear label for what they're feeling, just knowing something isn't working the way they want it to.

Every session pairs neurofeedback with psychotherapy in real time, not as two separate appointments. Neurofeedback trains your brain to regulate itself using real-time feedback on its own activity, while psychotherapy gives you the space to process what's underneath. We start with a consultation to understand your specific situation, then build a personalized plan from there.

Because you deserve care that treats you as a whole person, not just a diagnosis or a symptom list.

We believe in an integrated approach.

You won't have to choose between "brain training" and "talking it out." We bring both together in the same room at the same time. You'll be met with compassion and understanding at every session, regardless of what brings you there.

We promote real, sustainable change.

My goal in your therapy sessions isn't a quick fix. It's about helping your nervous system and your mind find a new baseline, one that lasts beyond the session.

What the Neurofeedback Therapy Process Looks Like:

01.

Initial Consultation

We start with a conversation. You'll share what's brought you in, what you've tried before, and what you're hoping to feel different. This helps us understand your unique situation before we begin any treatment.

02.

Personalized Session Plan

Based on your consultation, we build a plan that integrates neurofeedback and psychotherapy in a way that fits your specific needs — whether that's anxiety relief, trauma processing, focus support, or something else entirely.

03.

Ongoing Private Sessions

In each session, you'll experience both the calming, regulating effects of neurofeedback and the guided support of psychotherapy, working together in real time, not as separate appointments.

04.

Progress, at Your Pace

Healing isn't linear, and neither is our approach. We check in regularly, adjust your plan as needed, and celebrate the small shifts that lead to lasting change.

Neurofeedback Therapy: Your Questions, Answered:

  • Neurofeedback therapy uses real-time feedback about your brain's activity to help your brain learn to regulate itself more effectively. There's nothing invasive about it — you're simply given information your brain can use to shift toward calmer, more balanced patterns over time, while psychotherapy works alongside it to help you process what's underneath.

  • This service is self-pay. I am happy to provide super bills for out-of-network reimbursement. Please be sure to ask at your next session if you require this.

  • This service is not a one-size-fits-all service, so the answer varies here. Significant others typically notice changes first, usually within the first 5 sessions. I recommend completing 20 sessions and then obtaining a new brain map to assess progress. We can discuss your specific service timeline together during your first session.

  • Yes. Neurofeedback therapy is non-invasive and drug-free. It doesn't involve any electrical stimulation of the brain — it simply reads your brain's existing activity and feeds that information back to you, so your brain can learn from it.

  • I work with anybody who is able to sit still for our 30-minute session together. This means I work with a variety of individuals ranging from children to adults.
